Driftwood Folk
music
Dave, Clare and Tim enjoy the infectious foot tapping rhythm
of folk jigs, reels and polka's, and the soulful haunting
sound of Irish airs.
Clare plays the fiddle, Dave plays guitar, and Tim plays guitar and
also the Whistle.
Both Tim and Clare have played with other folk groups and dance bands,
and Dave who has more recently been introduced to folk has also
developed a taste for it.
Driftwood also play together with another band
called Jubilation
who are a large dance band that can cater for barn dances, folk dances
and ceilidhs. Together the band makes upto an
eight piece band.
Together they have played for pub sessions and celebrations.
So whether its corperate entertainment or a night of session music,
Driftwood can arrange it.
Examples of sets include:
Farewell to
Chenobel & Julia Delaney's - Trad Reels
Fox hunters
& Kid on the Mountain - Trad Jigs
The Rights of Man
& Laird O'Cockpen - Trad Airs
